A photo gallery is a Web page that contains a collection of graphics that are arranged in a specific layout. This article discusses how to customize the appearance of your photo gallery by using Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003. To do this, you have to modify the Real.htm file. The Real.htm file is created automatically by FrontPage 2003.
The following example shows how to change the caption of an image to a hyperlink:
In the Save As dialog box, type Photo.htm in the File name box, and then click Save.
Note – If you want the page to have a specific title, click Change Title in the Save As dialog box, type your new page title, and then click OK.
In the Save Embedded Files dialog box, click OK.
Note – After FrontPage 2003 saves the page, your Web will have a new folder that is named Photogallery. In the Photogallery folder, there will be another folder that is named Photonnnnnnnn, where nnnnnnnn is an 8–digit random number.
With the Photo.htm page open, point to Preview in Browser on the File menu, and then click the browser that you want to use to preview the Photo.htm file.
Note – You may have to click Refresh to view the most recent version of this file.
WARNING – Do not edit either the Real_p.htm or the Real_x.htm files in the Photonnn folder. Both of these files are used exclusively by Microsoft FrontPage and must not be altered.
Note – If you double–click or right–click the photo gallery image, and then click Photo Gallery Properties to make changes, any changes that you made to the Real.htm file are overwritten.
For more information about working with Photo Galleries, click Microsoft Office FrontPage Help on the Help menu, type photo gallery in the Search for box in the Assistance pane, and then click Start searching to view the topic.
