Outlook 2007 Setup Instructions

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2007

2. Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then Select "Accounts Settings".

   
   
   
   

3. Click the New… button

   
   
   
   

4. Check the box next to Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click

   
   
   
   

5. Now, you have to specify the email account settings. Please make sure to replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain name in all examples below

   • User Information:
     1. Your Name – type in the name that your recipients will see in the “From” field of e–mails you send.
     2. Click on E–mail Accounts.
     3. Email Address – type in your complete email address
   • Server Information:
     1. Incoming mail server (POP3) – type in mail.yourdomain.com.
     2. Outgoing mail server (SMTP) – type in smtp.yourdomain.com.
   • Logon Information:
     1. User Name – type in your complete email address.
     2. Password – type in the password for this email account that was issued to you by Frontpage.

     3. Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) – do not check this box.

   
   
   
6. Once you have filled in the above information, click on the More Settings button

7. Select the Outgoing Server tab and check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select also the radio button next to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

   
   
   
   

Can't Send Email?

If you have checked authentication and it still won't send use your Internet connection provider's SMTP server. Enter the SMTP address in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) field. For example, mail.earthlink.net.

Outlook 2002/XP Setup Instructions

Our Microsoft Outlook 2002 tutorial shows how to setup Outlook 2002 to retrieve email from your Frontpage accounts.

1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2002

2. Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then Select "E–mail Accounts".

3. The screen below should appear. Under the "E–mail" heading, be sure that "Add a new e–mail account" is selected by clicking on the appropriate circle. Then click "Next >" button in the bottom right hand of the window.

4. The next screen will appear, asking you to choose the type of server. Select "POP3" by clicking on the circle next to "POP3", and then click the "Next >" button in the bottom right hand of the window.

5. On the next screen, you will be asked for your e–mail settings:
6. Under "User Information"
   • Your Name: John Doe
   • E–mail Address: johndoe@yourdomain.com
   • Under "Server Information":
   • Your incoming mail server is a POP3 and its name is mail.yourdomain.com
   • Your outgoing mail server is mail.yourISP.com (or possibly smtp.yourISP.com – you will find your ISP's exact smtp server name on their web site)
   • Under "Logon Information":
   • Enter in the User Name (your full email address) and Password that was issued to you by Frontpage.
   • User id: user@yourdomain.com
   • Password: provided

7. Click the "Next >" button in the bottom right hand of the window.

8. When the next window opens, click the "Finish" button in the bottom right hand of the window.

9. Now to retrieve your mail, in the Outlook 2002 window, choose "Tools" from the menu bar, then select "Send and Receive".

Can't send email?

Click on the 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication', then click OK
