Frequently Asked Questions about Hosted Sites
Do I have to sign a long term contract?
No. Fpweb.net prices are some of the lowest in the industry. All of our advertised prices are based on a 3-month commitment. You pay in advance and are committed to keeping a server with Fpweb.net for 3 consecutive months.
Can I upgrade my server or my services?
Yes. If we ever upgrade our plans, or you require a server with more extensive resources, we will upgrade your server for a small fee. We build every server so that it is very easy to scale, grow and expand your machine at any given time. You will then be charged for the new monthly fee of the new plan you choose.
I cannot access my SharePoint site (or website). Are you down?
Many reasons can account for a user having this problem. The user or page administrator can resolve many of them. Others are more complicated, and must be resolved by the server administrator, or the user's ISP (Internet Service Provider). Perform a ping or a traceroute to get information on the host's status and reach us if you require assistance at 866.780.4678.

I get the message: "There is no DNS entry for http://www.yourdomain.com"
There are several possible explanations. Try to reach the site using the IP address (provided in your original welcome email). If you are successful, the domain name is either not active or not yet propagated.
Why hasn’t my domain propogated?
For a new domain, it can take 48 hours or so for the name to be propagated to Domain Name Servers throughout the Internet. (Foreign domains and transfers can take longer)
If it is an older domain that has previously been reachable, the name may be on hold with your registrar. Contact your domain registrar directly to determine the reason the name is on hold.
Clear your browser cache and try again
If you can reach the site with the IP address and you know it has been more than 48 hours since the name was released by your domain registrar, clear your browser cache and try again.
Using Mozilla FireFox:
- Select Tools|Clear Private Data
- Ensure the Cache checkbox is checked. Ensure any information you do not want to clear is unchecked. (Saved Passwords and Cookies, for instance.)
- Click on the button "Clear Private Data Now".
Using Internet Explorer:
- Select View | Options.
- Select the Navigation tab.
- Click "Clear History" and OK.
- Click Refresh.
Either my site or the web seems slow.
Perform a ping and a traceroute from your location to the target location to gain information on the host’s status. If the host is available, there may be a problem outside of our networks. If the host is not available, call Fpweb.net support at 866.780.4678. Please have any information handy about the ping and/or traceroute you performed to share it with our engineers so we can assist you as best as possible.
