5 Reasons We’re Excited About SPTechCon Boston

SPTechCon BostonNext month, we will be landing in beautiful Boston to attend one of this year’s largest SharePoint conferences: SPTechCon Boston 2013. Mid August may find us on the East coast, but we also were privileged to attend the West coast SPTechCon in San Francisco this past March.

We had a great time in San Francisco, as both attendees and Gold sponsors of one of the largest SharePoint events around. Want to see just how much fun we had at SPTechCon San Francisco? Check out Steven Rupp’s SPTechCon San Francisco recap and pictures, including insight on what it was like to attend his first SPTechCon.

We’ve attended a handful of SPTechCon events through the years and they have always made it on the list of our favorites. How could a company that is dedicated to SharePoint hosting not have a great time at the largest independent SharePoint conference in the world? (Yes, I did say world!) This August, we’re particularly excited about attending and sponsoring the upcoming East Coast Conference in Boston.

And while the list was long for why we’re excited about SPTechCon Boston, I did want to share my top five reasons:

REASON #1: We love SharePoint, how could we not LOVE a SharePoint conference?

Here at Fpweb.net we are 100% SharePoint focused, and so is SPTechCon! It’s a match made in heaven (…or in Boston).

REASON #2: Great conversations with great people

The attendees of SPTechCon are the best of the best in the SharePoint world. We know that every time we attend SPTechCon we’ll have more great SharePoint conversations than we can count. Whether we’re discussing the benefits of hosting SharePoint in a private cloud, migrating from an earlier version of SharePoint to SharePoint 2013, our favorite features of SharePoint 2013, or SharePoint best practices, we’re always talking about our favorite topic…SharePoint!

REASON #3: Fantastic SharePoint Speakers

At every SPTechCon event, we know that there will exceptional SharePoint speakers. At SPTechCon Boston, there are over 50 speakers that will be presenting at the many technical classes; as well as three much anticipated keynote speakers. You won’t want to miss the keynote presentations from:

    • Karuana Gatimu, Business Solution Architect and SharePoint Expert at Microsoft will be speaking on Tuesday about the future of collaboration, including modern apps and social workstreams.
    • Joel Oleson, aka SharePoint Joel, will be presenting on Monday about SharePoint 2013 and the Enterprise Mobile Explosion!
    • Jeremy Thake, Chief Architect at AvePoint, will end the week discussing the Future of Social Collaboration in the Enterprise at his keynote presentation on Wednesday.

REASON #4: SPTechCon is a conference for everyone

As those who work with SharePoint know, there are many different types of people involved in the implementation, management, and use of SharePoint. The great thing about SPTechCon is that this conference is for all levels of attendees, from SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013 administrators, SharePoint MVPs, IT professionals, business users, SharePoint developers, and business analysts. There are technical classes and presentations to interest all the different types of attendees:

    • For IT professionals, learn how to leverage SharePoint for intranets, web sites, document management, business process management, and corporate compliance. Also, discover the best practices for managing a SharePoint environment and integrating it with other applications.
    • Business managers and analysts will benefit from the classes and tutorials on how to take full advantage of the rich collaboration features of SharePoint, including managing content, lists, and reporting tools.
    • Developers won’t want to miss out on the highly rated technical classes on how to create applications for SharePoint to solve real business problems.

REASON #5: Boston, should we say more?

When most people think of Boston, they’ll first think of the Boston Tea Party, Benjamin Franklin, Fenway Park, the Red Sox, and Harvard. But, as a technology company, when we think of Boston we also think of the technology-rich hub of the Mid-Atlantic area.

Overall, SPTechCon is a great opportunity to meet, talk to, and learn from others in the SharePoint world. AND FYI: Now until July 26th, you can save $300 by registering on the SPTechCon Boston site.
