SharePoint Fest Chicago: Another successful trip

First of all, I can never get enough time in Chicago.

I love this city for everything that it is – a sprawling metropolis, a sports town, a city rich in history and a city with amazing food. Plus every time I’m here, I’m lucky enough to randomly encounter someone interesting (in this case it was a Hall of Fame baseball player) and you can always find me traipsing around the town covering up Cubs logos with Cardinals logos.

This particular time, I did have a reason to be in Chicago. SharePoint Fest Chicago. If you aren’t familiar with SharePoint Fest, it’s a great series of conferences usually held in Denver, D.C. and Chicago each year. SharePoint experts from different areas within SharePoint share their thoughts and help to reach out to the community of attendees. In between those sessions, you can stop off and chat with various companies working with SharePoint in different ways.

I arrived with Steve Rupp, one of our SharePoint sales architects and no stranger to SharePoint conferences himself, and got our booth ready to rock and roll. From the moment the conference floor opened, we immediately started to have great conversations with people looking to understand what our dedicated SharePoint cloud solution can do for them. I enjoyed meeting all the great folks from the SharePoint community around Chicago and the different businesses they represented. Hearing stories about how different companies use SharePoint has always been an interest of mine and gets me thinking of better ways to support these businesses and users. I am the Channel Manager at, so I’m always keeping my ear out for interesting partnerships as well.

While the individual sessions were taking place in the breakout rooms, I was able to walk around and chat with other great partners in the community. The partners included consulting firms, migration tools, security tools, document viewers, and many others. All of which can add value to customers hosting there SharePoint environments with us.

Some of the best conversations we had involved breaking down the barriers of hosting in the cloud and talking about the value.

Cloud security is a hot topic, and we have that covered. Want to talk about Disaster Recovery? Check. Can I have access to my farm and customize? The answer is yes. So getting that information out to the people attending these conferences is important because we just want to help you be able to do your job better with SharePoint.

Also, at SharePoint Fest Chicago, announced our new partnership with CipherPoint, a security technology company. This along with our other security partnerships will allow us to strengthen our offerings in areas such as healthcare, energy, legal, and financial. These industries and many others have a large concern around data encryption. Well, has that covered now.

Again, I thought this was a successful trip and the attendees and partners took away a lot of good information about what our Cloud really brings to the table. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or the team with any SharePoint questions and see if we can’t find a solution that fits. Our focus is to be your trusted advisor and help you reach your goals. We have the ability to host your data in our private cloud and I am sure I have a partner ready for you to meet your specific goals with customizations and any other SharePoint related need.

See you at the next conference!
