SP24: One big beautiful case study for Fpweb.net

SP24 SharePoint ConferenceYou’ve had about a week to rest those eyes after they remained heroically peeled to the internet for the entire duration of SP24 – the 24 hour, all online, SharePoint conference.

Ok, so you may not have pulled a 24 hour bender, but most attendees did manage to clock a considerable number of hours watching the best of the best SharePoint speakers outline great ways to utilize the platform and introduce great talking points for your business to consider when deploying SharePoint. Long story short – it was a big success!

(In fact, probably the only opportunity SP24 missed was a sponsorship from an energy drink company…)

All in all, over 100 sessions streamed across YouTube and the main conference site to make sure viewers all over the world had access to the biggest online SharePoint conference to ever exist. And Fpweb.net, your friendly, dedicated SharePoint Cloud provider, was there the entire time.

Let me explain the simple reason why it’s important for Fpweb.net to consider the entire conference as one BIG case study – because that’s what the SharePoint Community was doing!

You see, Fpweb.net hosted the dedicated servers that would eventually bring over 7,000 attendees on board and managed to do it without even a trace of lost connectivity.

The whole world was watching to see what we could do, and, if I can be so candid, we knocked it out of the park!

So, as far as a case study goes, we can go on and on at conferences and SharePoint Saturdays and sales calls about how we build your SharePoint environment to perform (even to the point of giving you a free demo environment to test for yourself), but when we get the opportunity to broadcast it on full display to the SharePoint Community like we did with SP24, we don’t get shy.

If you’ve watched our Hosting the SP24 Conference: A look behind the curtain video, then you know that we scoped out the environment at the end of last year and concluded that three servers should be sufficient to handle the traffic. Prior to the conference kicking off, the SP24 team performed a few final load tests and confirmed the VPU’s on the servers were running a little higher than in previous tests. Standing behind our promise to scale the environment rapidly to handle any demand needed, Fpweb.net was able to add additional resources to all three servers in the farm, and, after SP24 performed one final, successful load test, we were ready to go.

During the conference, both the SP24 team and the Fpweb.net team closely monitored all servers and not once during the entire 24 hours of heavy traffic did either team see much stress on the servers. With memory, CPU, and network utilization all being well under 70%, the performance on the site remained flawless.

The SharePoint Community seemed to notice too!  We watched with pride as, not only the conference went off without a hitch, but also our Twitter feed started blowing up with praise from attendees and organizers alike.

Thanks for reaching out to those who did – you made our day!

Now that SP24 is over (or is it…?!), you will be able to catch up on all the sessions once they’re made available, on-demand from the SP24 team.

Once again, we are so grateful to the brilliant minds behind SP24 for letting us add to their great idea and be a part of such a fun and innovative conference. And to everyone looking for a powerful SharePoint environment that is as secure as it is available while still able to handle all the customization and control you need to be successful, we’re happy to keep that cloud conversation going.

Until then, see you at the next SharePoint conference!

On behalf of the SP24 team, we want to thank you once again!
The only issues we had during the conference were related to Google Hangout and YouTube.
There was nothing to wish for regarding performance and stability of the SharePoint platform. And let me add one more thing, the responsiveness of your tech team is just outstanding!
    You rock!
